تكوين زمن الماضى المستمر

Subject + was / were + verb-ing

استخدامات زمن الماضى المستمر

- للتعبير عن عمل مستمر فى الماضى :

They were talking together last week.

هم كانوا يتحدثون سويا الأسبوع الماضى .

- للتعبير عن عمل مستمر فى الماضى ( زمن الماضى المستمر ) ثم قطعه عمل أخر ( زمن الماضى البسيط ) ,

 لابد من وجود رابط بين الجملتين مثل when أو while :

He was watching the TV when she cried

هو كان يشاهد التليفزيون عندما هى صرخت .

- للتعبير عن عملين يحدثان فى نفس الوقت فى الماضى ( الجملتين فى زمن الماضى المستمر ) , لابد من وجود رابط بين الجملتين وهو while :

I was studying while he was playing football.

أنا كنت أذاكر بينما هو كان يلعب كرة القدم .

النفى فى زمن الماضى المستمر

Subject + was / were + not + verb-ing

They were talking together last week.

They were not talking together last week.

He was watching the TV when she cried.

He was not watching the TV when she cried.

I was studying while he was playing football.

I was not studying while he was playing football.

السؤال فى زمن الماضى المستمر

Was / Were + subject + verb-ing

They were talking together last week.

?Were they talking together last week

He was watching the TV when she cried.

?Was he watching the TV when she cried

I was studying while he was playing football.

?Was I studying while he was playing football
