The Sultanate of Oman is an Asian country located on the southwestern side of the Arabian Peninsula. It is located on the south-eastern side of the Arabian Peninsula.
It is surrounded on the north-east by the Sea of Oman and on the south-east by the Indian Ocean.
The land borders are associated with Saudi Arabia from the west and Yemen From the south-west, and from the north, united by the UAE.
The Sumerians named Oman Mount Copper.
This name was mentioned in many texts of Sumerian and Akkadian scribes.
It was written in cuneiform script.
These texts indicate the importance of Oman in all aspects, specifically its strategy, and its natural resources such as copper, Which was used in the manufacture of statues, most notably the stone diorite.
It covers an area of about three hundred thousand square kilometers.
This area includes a variety of terrain such as the plains and mountains.
It is one of the most important coastal plain which overlooks the Arabian Sea and the Gulf of Oman.
It occupies three percent of the Sultanate.
And the Dhofar Mountains located in the south-west, the most important, in addition to the desert places covering eighty-two percent of its total area, which is mostly in the empty quarter.
It is worth mentioning that the inland area of the country is separated from the coastal area by a mountain series called the stone, and it is about six hundred kilometers in the northern part of the Sultanate, and Mount Shams is the highest peaks of the mountain, which is up to about three thousand meters.
Oman has enjoyed a series of strong international and foreign relations in the last five thousand years, which it has linked with many countries through ports, most notably the port of Muttrah and Salalah, Muscat and Sahar .

Nizwa Castle and Souk, a historic castle dating back more than three hundred and fifty years.
Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque is one of the most beautiful and largest mosques in the Arabian Gulf, and features a beautiful Islamic dome and decoration .
